i have a winged scapula

i have a winged scapula

i have a winged scapula my right arm, don't know what caused it, i use to work out alot and lift heavy
weights and i have already been to physical theorpy for a month and didn't get any relief ive had 2 mri's and the two doctors ive seen just keep telling me to go to pysical therapy, wich has been a waist of time and money, one doctot
told me that surgery would be the next thing, i guess my question is besides theropy   would sergery (surgery) be a good idea im 27yrs old and my shoulder/neck on the right is always tight  feels like i have a huge knot that never wants to come out. it hurts all the time some days are just a little better than others but i do get nerve pain down my arm whe its really bad. And what does the surgery intail, recovery time, how painful?

Winging of the scapula has a variety of causes. Most commonly, either an injury to the long thoracic nerve or the spinal accesory nerve.  Other possibilities include muscle imbalances.  Its really impossibile to tell you more without knowing the cause.
