Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Likely possibilities include bone contusions, fractures/ dislocations, inflammations, injuries to the internal knee ligaments/ menisci etc. I would suggest consulting a primary care physician or an orthopedician for an evaluation. After a cause is diagnosed or suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Meanwhile I would suggest resting the knee. You could use a crepe bandage/ knee brace to limit the mobility. OTC tylenol/ NSAIDS may be useful for pain relief as well.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
