ATF Surgery Help!

ATF Surgery Help!

Hello.

My podiatrist met with me yesterday to look over a volleyball injury I sustained to my left ankle.  He pushed a few tendens quickly and then scheduled me for an MRI to confirm his thinking about a ruptured ATF ligament which he thought would require surgery.

I was kinda in shock (never having surgery) so I forgot to ask him a few questions...can anyone help me out?

-  How long would this kind of surgery take to complete?
- Would I be "out" or would it be a local type of thing?
- What's the typical recoup time we're talking about?  Aircast or regular cast?  How many weeks?
- If regular cast, I'm assuming that means crutches, eh?

Sorry for the basic questions...new territory for me.

Thanks in advance!
