I am not a doctor but it sounds like your cuboid bone is fractured and there is swelling in your 5th metatarsal. Your ligaments are fine. If your doctor recommends anything beyond a boot or cast (like surgery) make sure you go to a foot and and ankle surgeon-- NOT a podiatrist. A foot and ankle surgeon has much more experience and education.

I empathize with the pain you are in I have had stress fractured of my cuboid in past.

good luck,
