Ball of big toe - pain- DVT?

I am currently in NY staying with my ex and his parents with our 9 year old child - Im from England. the flight over on 14th  July resulted in me having extremely swollen ankles and feet which lasted 3 days. I have never had this problem when flying before.

On the 20th July our daughter had an all day family birthday party outside, I was on my feet taking pictures from 9am till 10pm and the next morning the pain in the ball of my left big toe was awful< but no swelling or bruising or redness or heat from it. I put it down to being on my feet all day because  I didn't recall anything which could have injured it,

Now 3 days later my toe is still very painfull and walking is difficult, I am putting most pressure on the outside of my foot so my tendons on my heel are tender. The pain is localised to the lower toe joint and the ball/ I cant raise my toe up but can bend it down.

It feels like a possible sprain or stress fracture but because of the flying and swollen feet I am wondering if this is the pain you would get with a DVT?

Going to a dr wouldn't be easy as I would be relying on my ex mother in law and unless it was obviously life threatening it will cause friction....

Would appreciate any thoughts, thank you :)

Thank you for the reply -  after 3 days the pain subsided -  I am leaning towards a stress fracture/bruising of the toe ball.

Will be getting a full medical check up when I go back home, have been bitten like crazy while here - either by mosquitoes or no-see-ems -itching like crazy.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
It is difficult to say what it could be without examining. The various possibilities are corn/callus, DVT, infection, faulty foot wear, contact dermatitis due to contact with something that your skin was allergic to or due to insect bite or gout, rheumatoid arthritis, ligament tear, tendonitis, bursitis or ankle strain. Since the pain and swelling are persisting, you need to see a doctor soon. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
