Best Treatment for Depletion of Joint Fluid in Knee

Best Treatment for Depletion of Joint Fluid in Knee

What is the best treatment to replenish joint-fluid replecement?  There is persisitent inflammation on the arthritic knees, it is worse on the right knee.  And pain is managed -moderately only - through anti-inflammatory medicines.  The knee joints are severly arthritic but managed somewhat through excercise and weight management.  At 79 unsure whether Total Knee relacement is worthwhile.

Further, can you recommend a practice in Orissa or in Calcutta?  Or at best in Delhi?

Thanks!!

Hi there!

There are several supplements like glucosamine, chondritin sulfate, hyaluronic acid etc. available. Injectables may work slightly better than diet supplements, in moderate-severe cases. It is best advised to consult an orthopedician for an appropriate management plan drafted according to ones clinical assessment. You could search the yellow pages for available practices in your region.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
