Broken glass slashed wrist, have bump near tendon

I cut my wrist open when a  glass blender shattered in my hands.  This happened on Father's day and by now the stitches are out and it's relatively healed.  The problem now is any time my hand gets bent backward and I try to resist, I feel a very uncomfortable and sharp pain in my wrist.  If I bend my wrist back and look at the incision, there is a bulge about the size of a large pea where the deepest part of the cut was.  If I just move my fingers or bend my wrist back as far as I can by itself, there is no pain.  I asked the woman who took the stitches out about how it looked and she told me it was just healing, but obviously there's something going on.

I have an appointment to see an orthopedist on the 12th but I just wondered if anyone could give me any insight before then.  I'm a powerlifter and have taken three weeks off now due to the cut, and I can't do any working out because of the pain around my tendon.

Hi there!

Well this could be due to fibrosis associated with healing that may be causing difficult tendon movement or nerve pressure; or cyst formation or a loose body. You may like to discuss the possibilities with your orthopedician.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
