Bruised or Broken?

Last night I did a front flip on the trampoline and when I landed on my back my right heel came down hard on my left foot. I thought it was fine and kept jumping. When I jumped it felt like someone stabbed my foot. I went inside and looked at it. It was swollen and bruised. So I iced it. I got up this morning and I can't move the toe next to my pinky and whenever I put any weight on that part of my foot it hurts really bad. The top and bottom of my foot are swollen. The toe next to my pinky won't even touch the ground. I get hurt all the time and I don't want to go to the doc unless there is something wrong and that he can fix that I can't. The bruising and pain is where my toes meet my foot. There is one spot though that when weight is put on my foot it feels like something stabs my foot. I've never broken a bone before so I don't really have any past experience to go on. Does this sound broken or just badly bruised? What should I do about it? Thanks for the help.

The bruise is fading but the pain and swelling aren't. I think I'll just keep watching it and hoping it gets better. Thanks for the advise though.

It wouldn't hurt to go to the Dr. and get an xray!

A break is possible, severe contusion (bruise) is less likely, a sprain is most likely.
These, very often, or more problematic than a break.
There is no other option than going to the hospital or Doctor. You need X-rays, and proper evaluation, plus proper immobilization and post treatment rehab instructions.

I would definitly go and have it looked at and x-rayed!  I am just like you, constantly getting hurt but never breaking anything!  I did however break my right ring finger last sunday, I fell hiking and knew right away it was broken b/c it swelled very quickly and I couldn't move it.  I would rather be safe than sorry b/c I do take a long time to heal with injuries and you don't want to injure it more by walking on it if it is broken!  Let us know how it's doing, good luck!
