CLAVICLE SURGERY OR NOT PLEASE HELP!
I broken my clavicle 3 weeks ago, the docs first told me of dangers that were aware and surgery may be neccessary and then decided not o operate. its broken in 3 pieces. Ucla Harbor says no , what do i do?
You should get a second opinion. If it is broke in three pieces, that is pretty bad and I do not think it will heal with just one of those little braces or slings that they make you wear. I say ask for a second opinion, it can't hurt. If you are not satisfied with what your doctor is telling you, find another doctor and see if they agree . Hope this helps. Clavicle fractures heal by their own when not displaced and when there are no complications.
Your orthopedician will give you figure of 8 bandages or sling bandage and will rest you for couple of weeks and after that active movements will be started gradually.
For complications and problems in healing of your clavicle you would need surgery.
