Can I be a Sportsman without a radial head and an ossified MCL?

Two years ago I got a severe terrible Triad injury to my elbow on my dominant arm.  The MCL was partially damaged and has now partially ossified; the Radial head was ultimately replaced with a bipolar prothesis; the LCL was avulsed and repaired; and I have a much reduced range of movement.
The Radial compartment has always had severe crepitus, and now it's getting worse and painful.
The surgeon wants to remove the implant, saying that I don't need it.
But I want to remain active and carry on cycling, playing rugby and boxing.
I'm worried that removing the radial head will end my sporting career.
Are there any high achieving sportsmen with my injury?

I'm sorry but you have to accept that your sports days are finished and you must find other purposeful ways to employ your energies.
