Chest discomfort/cough after surgery

by shannonwooten, Mar 17, 2007 12:00AM
Hey, I had surgery on Wed, March 14th- Sternoclavicular Joint Repair to the right side that left a 2 inch scar on my chest. The doc drilled a hole into my collarbone and tied it down to my top rib so it wouldnt dislocate anymore.

Its been 3 days and I still can't take full breaths in or out and I have developed a little cough. Sitting up feels like someone kicked the air out of my chest. Also, for two nights now when I concentrate on my breathing- I notice a lil clicking sound/feeling coming from the bottom right of my chest.

Do you think I should worry about a little cough? I cough often, its real high pitched, and painful.

Is my breathing normal?

Thanks!
