Clicking Big Toe

I'm not sure if last night when dancing at a local venue someone stepped on my foot or I stepped the wrong way and whatnot but as the title states my big toe started clicking.

Simptoms are as follows:
No pain when applying pressure (i.e walking)
No pain pointing my toe downwards.
BUT
When moving my toe up from a downwards bent position as soon as it becomes paralel to my foot, or straight, it makes a click and there is some pain. On a 1 to 10 scale, 10 being the most painful I would say the pain is a 3.75 to 4. Definately not excruciating but enough to feel it.

It is sunday and all the walk in clinics are closed, neither do I feel the need to wait in line for 7 hours at the hospital for this issue.

I'm just about to take some advil, throw on some anti-inflamatory cream and go easy on my foot until tuesday when the clinics open.
I would like to know if this a common issue, a sprained toe, perhaps a small fracture or bone chip, I would appreciate it very much if someone could help diagnose this for me. Also if there is anything I can do in the meantime, until the clinics open, let me know. I tried pulling the toe out from the joint as to try to re allign it, didnt pull very hard or anything, but I now realise it's a bad idea and I don't really know what I'm doing.

Hello ntony

It seems that you must be having some kind of toe sprain due to some muscle or a ligament pull. Do some ice pack pressure and take ibuprofen and get an Xray done when you visit your doctor. Take rest.
