Cortisone for knee bruise??

Cortisone for knee bruise??

Hi. I had an MRI a few weeks ago and was told I have some pretty severe bone bruising on my knee. The treatment plan was to go easy on my runs, not run consecutive days, and ice, ice, ice.(Doc said I didn't have to stop running at all.)  I ended up taking about 2.5 weeks off, and am now anxious to get back running, but I'm still having pain. I have had cortisone injections in my shoulders for bursitis and I'm wondering if cortisone works for bone bruising, as well. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello!

Cortisone is a steroid and is an anti inflammatory agent and can act against any inflammation.

Sometimes if you have other complications like tears then the cortisone will not act.

Take care!
