Cracking Knees

Cracking Knees

I'm 13 years old. My knees crack all the time. (When I bend down, squat, etc.) I know this isn't normal for my age. I drink a lot of milk and exercise a lot. Sometimes they hurt when I run. Is there a cause? What should I be doing?

Hello!

I would suggest you to strengthen your muscles both quadriceps and hamstrings.
For this you would require to involve in sports, running, skipping or swimming occasionally.

If you do not have any pain, deformity, injury to your knee joint there is nothing to worry and with proper nutritious protein food, sports there will be improvement with growth.

If your symptoms persist or progress I would suggest you to follow up with a pediatrician or orthopedist.

Take care!
