Cuboid Frature in Left Foot

Cuboid Frature in Left Foot

On 8-16 i fell onto some uneven ground and turned my foot. It swelled up quite a lot so I went to the hospital on 8-17 and had some x-rays done. The ER doctor did not find anything wrong with my foot. She said it was just a severe sprain. On 8-18 I was walking very slowly and very cautiously. On 8-19 I was walking close to normal and most of the pain had gone away. My foot was just tender in one spot. On 8-19 I also went to see an orthopedic doctor. He looked at the x-rays and said I fractured my cuboid. He then put me in a non-walking cast and I have to have it for 4 weeks. I have been in the cast for 5 days but I have had no pain since day 3. I just want to know is the cast necessary or is it just a precaution. Also I don't know if this is relevant, but I am 17. Thank You

Hello!
The best part is to know that you are just 17 and young so bone healing would be good at your age.
For any fracture, immobilization is best for bone healing. So follow the instructions of your Orthopedician and you would be fine.
Take care!
