DISLOCATION!

im 16 and i play basketball,,,if i stick my hip out as far as it goes and put all my weight on that side my whole hip will shift(almost as if i dislocated it) (i can do it to both hips) when i do this it does not cause any pain. in general i only have some pain in my hips here and there. i got x-rays and it kindda seems like my hip socket it shallow. im a breech baby,, first born female,,and one of my family members can also do this with their hips.  i researched it and everything points to devlopmental hip dysplasia. i have an appointment with an orthopedic doctor but not for a month and i want to know how this can be fixed and how long the recovery would take????? please help
