Distal Biceps Tendon Rupture

Distal Biceps Tendon Rupture

I have been diagnosed with a rupture of my distal biceps tendon.  The surgeon says it is a complete rupture.  He only does 3 to 4 of these a year.  That seems like too few.  I would need to go to another town to see if I could find someone.   Are 3 to 4 sufficient experience?  He is not an old doctor.

Hi there!

One tendon rupture repair in 3-4 months is a good enough experience if he has been into some years of practice. One must also consider the fact that before a doctor starts practicing, he/ she has to go through years of vigorous training before one is licensed to perform independent surgeries; and it is a whole team that performs surgeries. You may still like to consider your options.
Hope this was useful

Take care!
