Do I have Ulnar Nerve Entrapment?

It all started on Feb 17, 2014 (about 6wks ago)

I was doing really heavy 1-arm preacher curls (which is nothing unusual for me to do.) But Once i started my 3rd set, i felt this pain through my right elbow. It was like it was very deep or in the back side of the elbow. I couldn't really finish my bicep workout...just continued with very light light weight.

The pain has been identical since that day, no worse or better. Day to to day activities i don't feel it. Nor do i feel it when I workout out triceps. I do feel it some when i workout back, but that's due to bicep flexing inward. It's really only when I tighten up my bicep (basically in a position where i try to touch my shoulder.) If I bend my elbow up, i don't have much pain....but if I start to flex my bicep as my elbow is bent, that's when the outer elbow pain greatens.

After weeks of trying to research, i came across Ulnar nerve entrapment. All signs seem to point to the this, except i don't have any tingle or numbness in my bottom 2 fingers. I'm thinking the nerve compressed during the heavy weight on my elbow during 1-arm preacher curls?

I press around on the elbow , but can't really pinpoint a painful area.

Any ideas if this might be Ulnar Nerve Entrapment? Any other tests i can do to verify?

I'm sure 3 views of the elbow is his protocol (AP/Lat/Oblique). Unfortunately, it will not show a soft tissue injury. First, if you had ulna nerve entrapment, you would experience your arm "falling asleep" basically every night! I can only give you a theory without a examination, x-rays and MRI results. You sound like you have a partial tear of your biceps tendon. The MRI should give a definitive answer. Best of luck, jd1963!

I went to the ortho on Tuesday.  He did plenty of tests, x-rays, and pressures, but could not figure out the issue.  He basically was stumped, and said our only hope is an MRI.   So that is getting scheduled any day now...

Hello , I am a 31 year old father of three girls. I'm researching so I can protect them if anything happens to me. Recently my left pinky finger became tingly and numb. The doctor had me have X Rays twice. He said there was a black spot in my Humerous bone. I then had an MRI. I now have an appointment with Orthopedics on April 22 2014. What are the chances that these two things are related. Could they be separate. Could it be Cancer or Benign? I also work out and feel that it may be a nerve issue as far as the fingers tingling. The black spot might be something separate. Maybe I also have ulnar never entrapment.

Thank you.
