Doctors unsure of whether my fracture needs surgery
I experienced a spontaneous calcaneal anterior process fracture last Thursday. Since then, I've been nonweightbering in an airboot.
It's been classified as minimally displaced, but the doctors that are treating me are having a hard time deciding whether or not it needs surgery to secure the fragment. For now, they've decided to leave in the boot and see if it heals.

I know that a displaced fracture that isn't properly set can lead to arthritis, but also that surgery carries risks.
Any thoughts or opinions would be really appreciated.
