Don't know how much more I can stand the pain.

Don't know how much more I can stand the pain.

Help!  I have been diagnosed with tendonitis and have been in severe pain for the last 8 weeks.  I have tried anti-inflammatory meds, steroids, a cortizone injection( which made it worse), exercises and a splint.  I do not have the luxury of resting my arm because in this economy I need to work.  On the weekends, I am completing my ultrasound externship for school (not good for that either).  My doctor refuses to give me anything for the pain because he is worried that I will become addicted.  I am at a loss.  Any suggestions for how to deal with the extreme pain that I have when I extend my arm out, it shoots  right down to my wrist.  Physical therapy is expensive and I can do that at home, I can't handle the splint on my arm because it makes the pain worse, icing it also increases the pain.  Please help, I am desperate for relief.
Thanks

Tendonitis requires rest, recovery time, slow exertion by Physiotherapy and short term use of anti inflammatory drugs. Please look at a scenario where you can do this and you will completely recover and ready for your education or on the other hand not doing this you would have a continous nagging injury for a longer term. Take care and decide on the right course!
