FOOT ANKLE INJURY

I did an x-ray of my right foot ankle and the results says calcification seen.  what does it mean?

I am sorry that you have been through so much. If you do need surgery make sure that a foot and ankle surgeon performs it and NOT a podiatrist. (There is a big difference in the two.) Preferably a foot and ankle surgeon from a teaching hospital. I hope you get your answers.

Recollect if you had any past fracture or tumour at your ankle joint. If not then you have to get your ankle clinically examined by an orthopedician and discuss all options.

Calcification is a process in which calcium builds up in body tissue, causing the tissue to harden. This can be a normal or abnormal process.

Normally most of the calcium is deposited in your bones or teeth and if it is deposited at other places it is an abnormality.

Thank you for responding quickly to my ankle joint problem.  I had fracture of the ankle such that the tissue is harden and gumed to vain drawing my foot up and does not spring down normally during walking.  The fracture was not as a result of accident, but developed like a boil and in the cause of native or primitive treatment when I was less than 10 years it healed abnormally and left hard tissue. I am now 50 years old and sometimes if I exercise the very much, I receive some sharp pains on the vain that make the feet to spring up and down.  Recently I took x-ray of the foot and the result says: NO BUY FRACTURE SEEN AND NO JOIN DISLOCATION. NO ABNORMAL SOFT TISSUE. CALCIFICATION SEEN.  Though, I am yet to submit the result to my surgeon but friends in their primitive idea is puting fear on me that a surgery of the ankle joint will worsen the foot.  I feel I should get expertise advice, should my doctor suggest to treat the problem by surgery.  Kindly note that the foot is not disturbing me as such and the pain I do receive is very minor and irregular but I just want a process where my foot is restored to normalcy, especially my walking steps and the fact I can only put on very low shoes. Thank you.
