Failed Ulnar Nerve Decompression

Failed Ulnar Nerve Decompression

I had ulnar nerve surgery (decompression) in November of last year.  Today I went to see the doctor about my hand.  I am still experiencing pain and numbness.  He ordered another round of neurological testing.

I know he will find the nerve is just as bad or worse than before.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he found more nerve damage because I had an operation on my wrist at the same time and my palm is still numb from that.

I believe my tennis elbow is from work.  I merchandise alot.  This entails me extending my arms over and over, putting things on shelves, picking up things and extending my arms, ect.. ect...

Anyway, what would you do in my case if he suggested decompression again?  Should i politely ask him for transposition instead?

I have read many stories about failed decompression that is tried over and over again, only ending up in a permanently injured nerve.

What is the standard for failed ulnar decompression?  Will the doctors then do the transposition?
