Fell on knee on black ice - 2 weeks plus, now ankle swelling

Th 1-29, I fell on my L knee on black ice - splitting my legs (R went forward quickly, L went back and bore the brunt of fall) . I  heard a loud noise and was in excruciating pain - felt like I was going to throw up or pass out. I could not get up on my own. Was able to see family doc that night. He manipulated and did not believe any meniscus or ligament damage had occured (very scraped, swollen and bruising had begun). X-ray next morning did not find any break, crack, of hairline fractures  in patella, no MRI or other 'soft' diagnostic done, other than doc's manipulation. The bruising appeared down my entire leg as days progresses, my shin is also tender to the touch and currently yellow bruising remains. Now tho, my concern is the inner L ankle keeps swelling badly and even after overnight rest is still swollen in the morning. I have sat with it on pillows above my heart the swelling reduces at times but is not disappearing/healing completely. Scabbing on knee is in final stages of healing, bruising appears to be, but the sweeling in the ankle CAUSED additional bruising on the inner right ankle, foot arch area and stayed swollen for more than 24 hours straight. Is it all part of healing progress? Could it be clot or blood flow issue? Could a vein have been damaged or nerve? Something else? Any suggestions and suggestions for which type of medical specialist to consult (Hem? / Orth? / Card?) would be much appreciated.
