Forearm Fracture

I am a 24yr old male, recently in motorcycle accident I sustained a fracture in my left forearm (proximal left radius and ulna broke), following which I underwent a surgery (open reduction and interna fixation). I am a marine engineer and have to board ship and am required to do heavy jobs at times, can somebody advise me diet tips for speedy recovery and after how many months can I board ship?

A fracture takes 4-6 weeks to heal and since joints ie elbow and wrist were probably immobalized you need to regain range of motion. I am not aware of any particular diet but the orthopedic surgeon I worked with advised patients that anti inflammatories such as advil slows the healing of a fracture. Your surgeon will give you a work release as your position will probably require to avoid liability. I would suspect aprox 2 months depending on lbs you lift.
