Hi dear experts,
my moms slipped and fell 2 weeks ago

closed reduction were done for twice and
the xray attached was taken yesterday
could anyone of you tell me if operation is inevitable or just to leave it healing by itself?
Thank you very much.

Hello!

Perfect reduction is essential for complete restoration of all functions.

It is difficult to achieve perfect reduction and to maintain it by conservative methods in adults. What is the age of your mom?

She requires an open reduction and internal fixation of the radius with a plate if the healing is not complete in 4-5 months.

Discuss all options with her orthopedician.

Take care!

Thank you Dr Vinod.
My mom is around 60.
So is there any big difference to go in earlier or to wait for few months to see if healing occur?
based on the xray I provided, is it more suggested to proceed to open reduction?
really realy thanks for your response.
