Freiberg's disease

Greetings from California,
This is my first post to this forum, so hi everyone!

My cousin's daughter was diagnosed with Freiberg's disease. She used to be in a gymnastics team (that won quite a bit of competitions) but for the last 3 months she couldn't participate in practices as the pain is too much.

She lives in Israel, which usually has pretty excellent medical services, but since Freiberg's is rather rare, finding a physician that specializes in this condition proved to be very difficult. She visited all the major hospitals but this condition is practically unheard of there.

Since I live in Northern California, I was asked to investigate and see if I could locate a specialist that would have the experience and proven competency treating this terrible condition. Ddoesn't have to be in California (though it would be a plus).

If you know of a specialist with experience treating Freiberg's, we would be most obliged if you could let us know.

UC San Francisco has an excellent medical school and hospital. They could probably provide the information you need.
