Groin strain

Hi all. First of all, I appreciate any help you all can give me. Last monday in the gym, I was doing some circuits (3 push ups, 3 squats, 3 chins) without weights. I do 10 sets then run to bring my heart rate down after which I would repeat the circuit all over again. Normally I would rest after the run but this day I just kept going. On the second circuit, as I was squatting, I felt a sudden sharp pain in my groin. I finished the entire regimen though with some pain. There was some discomfort after but something I could live with. The next day, went back to the gym and tried to run but there some noticeable pain so I stopped. Last Friday, I tried running, felt no pain so I continued on. 3 hours after my run, there was much more pain in my groin this time. I had a similar injury before while doing lunges and had it checked, ultrasounds showed nothing out of the ordinary. Is it possible my groin is just weak and I need to take it easy? It's just the right side by the way. There is some noticeable pain in my upper right groin when I cough. No discomfort while am walking. Only when am sitting down. A hernia should have come out in the Ultrasound before right? Thank you all in advance for the help!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

You can get your groin examined and rule out any femoral or inguinal hernia.

After a groin muscle tear you should rest for couple of weeks and follow up with physiotherapy.

If the pain continues then you have to consider some MRI scans of your lower hip and groin region and follow up with an orthopedician for a proper diagnosis.

Take care!

Thank you Dr Vinod. I've already gone to the doc to have it checked but was referred to a urologist first to rule out any infection. If there come back negative then I might then be sent to the ortho for further examination though I was told they will check later for a hernia. Thanks again and am hoping you are having a wonderful day!

I'd also like to add that there is no swelling or portrusion of any kind.
