I also have herniated disks-c-5 and c-6 and I am increasingly feeling dizzy and off balance. I have been dealing with this for 8 years now. I have been through all available types of physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, hot tubs, acupuncture, pain medication, muscle relaxers and epidoral steroid injections. I have gotten temporary relief at times. My conclusion is that now I must schedule another MRI and return to the neurosurgeon and have the surgery done to improve my quality of life and hope the benefits outweigh the risks. I have also been taking zoloft for depression caused by cronic pain. I have also had and occasionally have panic attacks due to my injury. It is my beleif that the neck and surrounding muscles are overcompensating for the injury and causing more compression on the nerves through tightening up and causing vertigo. Take care and best of luck to you.

I also have a c-7 herniated disk in neck and at times feel dizzy or off balance. I have not had surgery due to risks, but also have started getting panic attacks from time to time and constantly feel panicky/nervous feeling. This has been going on past couple years and still am trying to find the answer to what is going on, I do know it is not
mental and has to be related to physical. If you you or anyone has any conclusions let me know, Pete1128, good luck.

The herniated disc, could be causing some of your dizziness, but it all so could be from your medicine all so.Some medicines for anxiety do cause dizziness. It could be the combination of them both.Go back to your doctor and tell him/her how you have been feeling lately, maybe they can order an MRI or other tests to check on your herniated disc.Don't stress your self out, take some deep breaths and think calmly, every thing will be fine.Take care.
