Had an MRI, Can anyone tell me what this means?

My L5-S1 Level reads as this: There is mild narrowing of the intervertebral disc space. There is a degenerative disc. There is a focal midline posterior ventra extradural defect on the adjacent subarachnoid space, slightly worse to the right of the midline. There are alos mild ventral encroachments of the medial aspects of the right and left L5-S1 neural foramina.
I have been having issues with pain for quite some time. I have alot of pain in my legs and a shooting stabbing pain on my upper, inner thigh near the pelvic arean. It blows me away when the pain hits and makes it difficult to walk. My toes go numb when I am standing for any length of time and my hip area always hurts almost like they are bruised. I am going to see my doc on feb 28 but I sure would like to know what it means. I had an orthapedic refer me to a surgeon back in 09 but back then my mom was put into hospice so I never went. Now its only getting worse so I went to my regular doc who is a DO and an MD for a second opinion. He sent me for another MRI and according to the new one, the findings are the same. He said depending on the results he will either recommend epidural shots or surgery. I don't know what to think with the findings. I am on Tramadol everyday and most of the time, it only takes the edge off. I work on my feet all day and its getting harder and harder to work. I need my job! Yikes! Help, what do you all think?
