Help! Foot Pain!

Sorry for the long post, but this is driving me crazy!  I could not get an appointment until April with and Orthopedic doctor, but was wondering if anyone has a similar condition and can give me any suggestions to get me through the pain and numbness until I can see the doctor.

About 4 years ago (2012) started having pain in ball of foot after wearing new tennis shoes on a vacation.  Prior to that, I would have ball of foot pain when standing too long.

Pain started when walking too much, but would resolve after sleeping.  About 2 years ago, the pain progressed to everyday, but would resolve after resting.  I saw a podiatrist who ordered a nerve conduction  test which came back normal.  The doctor who did the testing said he thought it might be muscle or tendon related.

About 1 year ago, pain started to not resolve with rest and hurt upon standing after sitting for a long period of time or upon waking in the morning.

Around Nov/Dec of 2015, I started having numbness in toes with the pain.  Now I have pain and numbness most of the time.  The pain/numbness is worse in the morning when first getting out of bed.  After stretching, feet feel stiff until I start walking and is later in the morning.  Icing and Ibuprophen have helped with the pain, but it always comes back.  My PCP gave me a referral to Orthopedic physician.

Symptoms:

Ball of foot pain and feels like my sock is bunched up under my foot.  Feels swollen, but does not look swollen.  When standing barefoot, feels like bottom of foot is swollen and pushing on the bones in my feet which seems to cause numbness.

Pain between bones on top of foot.  Extreme tenderness when pressing on the area.  Some minor swelling between bones of big toe and first toe.  Massage and icing seems to help  temporarily.  Stretching seems to help with the pain, but seems to cause numbness too.

My feet are usually hot.  When they get hot, they feel like they are burning.  Cooling my feet by taking off my socks or turning on a fan takes the burning away.  If I fall asleep with my feet burning, it is always gone in the morning.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
