Help pls ! sever pain in left thigh,lower abd. & low back

around the fist month of Dec. I begin to have this pain in my upper thigh. Though i must have pulled a muscle, then I pinched the back of my lower thigh,upper calf and developed a LARGE bruised(take plavix) since then I can hardly WALK and so much pain..pain is now in my groin( if i press on my pelvis bone,it's painful) lower abd,  lower  back  and all of the thigh..feels like muscle and bone pain. had an xray of hip(normal) back(lumbar spurring) ultrasound of thigh to check for blood clot(normal).. my skin is tender to touch.  I just don't know what can be wrong I am so tired of taking pain pills, (which doesn't kill all the pain) and the pain is so bad it wakes me up at night, the pain also moves up into my  left buttocks too. I am 63 and have osteporsis,post cva,DJD, among other things.  i stay tired and drained all the time my daughter said i had a low grade fever,  has anyone had this experience, and what could this be???

Hello!

I would suggest you to follow up with an orthopedician and go for complete scans X-ray and MRI of your lower back and to rule out spinal problems. Take some pain killers presently to decrease the pain.

A complete examination of hip region and your legs will diagnose any fractures, dislocations, tendon or ligament involvements.

I would suggest you to follow proper ergonomics and regular exercise and keep normal body weight and prevent deep vein thrombosis.

Follow up with an orthopedician after diagnosis for proper cure.

thank you so very much for your input. I do take pain meds(vicodin,ultram) but neither take the pain away completely..I have a Dr's appt on thursday and will request a mri of my back area and hip and pelvis.  would an xray show as much as an mri ?

Hello!

X-ray will show you all the bone problems so you can go for an initial X-rays.

But if you have soft tissue issues like any ligament and tendon problems then you would need an MRI.

i went to my dr and he said all i have is arthritis and i did not need to go see a orthopedician..because i did need surgry..which i understand and i'v known for years that i've had some mild case of arthritis..this sever pain started all of a sudden one day i could walk without severe pain then the next day i could barely move my left leg more than a few inch here is the results of my mri and x-ray could you give me your opion

mri:left hip & pelivc pain impression

degenerative changes of both hips.  there appears to be a very small erosion involving the subchondral aspect of the right femoral head.
2. min. bilat. symmetrical effusion
3. some increase signal in the conjoined tendon of hamstring on the right which MAY represent focal tendinitis or partial tear.
4  min. greater trochanteric bursitis bilat.

mri: left hip & pelvic pain (immpression)

1. sm.subchondral erosion involving the right femoral head noted. this COULD BE related to degenerative change.
2.  there is a sm. amount of edema in the superolateral aspect of the bony actabulum on the left PROBABLY also related to degenerative change.
3. min. bilat. symmetrical effusions.
4. min. greater trochanteric bursitis noted bilaterally.

there is straightening of the lumbar lordoisis which MAY be normal or secondary to muscle spasm.  disc spaces are RELATIVELY NORMAL in height.  there is mild anterior osteophytic supurring. sl joints are normal

back in o5 i had a mri showing

mult.level degenerative  disc disease from C3-4 thur. C6-7 & at T2-3
at T2-3, there is a small super imposed central disc herniation/protrusion which deforms the ventral spinal cord.  there is mild central canal narrowing at this level and no significant neural foraminal narrowing

this is not my family dr that gave me the above suggesion but one that does not know my medical history..I am trying to get back to see my family dr. soon
any advice you could give on the above x-rays/mri i would be very greatful thanks
