Hi there!

Hip replacement is a very commonly done procure. The expected prognosis is usually good with recovery in 2-12 weeks while complete recovery may take a few months; though the precise prognosis would depend on individual basis. The surgery is normally followed by physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles around the joint and would help you regain weigh bearing and joint movement gradually. I would suggest discussing the situation and the expected prognosis in detail with your treating doctor.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
