Hip dislocation during pregnancy

Hi:
I'm 29 years old and pregnant. As a baby I was diagnosed with congenital hip dislocation and had surgery. I've never had any problems, but I was wondering if it is safe for me to have a pelvic delivery.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

You should have a C-section to be sure and to avoid any possible complications.

Your recovery after your childhood surgery should have been complete and your pelvis may support a normal vaginal delivery. Your obstetrician will suggest you an orthopaedic examination before she rules out a normal vaginal delivery.

Take care!
