Hi. Went to the Orthiopedic doctor today.. Took more x-rays....they showed a lot of calcium around th erod in my leg. He feels that a lot of the lower back problem I've been having (the pain) has been caused by the hip problem. So I am having surgery to remove the rod and screw and he will clear out all the calcium. I tis just day surgery but recovery will be painful as they will be cutting into the bone. It will be worth it to get rid of the pain I've been experiencing.
hi,
all the best.
keep asking.

x-rays showed my lower back was out severely. But they also showed there is a considerable amount of calcium build up on the upper outside of my hip (right over the end of the rod). More x-rays were taken on Monday. Most of the severe pain is gone as the Chiropracter was able to correct some of the problems in my lower back. He believes the severe pain was becuae the two problems were feeding of each other, so he was finally able to break that cycle. I will be making an appointment with my Orthopedic doctor after I see these new x-rays.
hi Metzo,
the clinical picture of the pain pattern which you have described to us , points towards a lower spine problem as you are having a radiating pain in the affected extremity. You can be having a Disc prolapse problem or some sort of spine instability. This is unlikely to be related to your rod problem.
Meet your orthopaedician and get X-rays done of your hip and spine.
Do inform us about your x-ray result.
