Hip pain/leg numbness

by LauraM11, Aug 20, 2008 08:45PM
About 9 months ago I went to see an orthopedic surgeon due to numbness in my right outside thigh. He performed a MRI on me, and said that though I had slight inflammation in one of my lower back discs, there wasn't nearly enough damage to have caused the numbness, and that I had probably just slept on my hip wrong and pinched the nerve.

Well, about a weel ago I work up with hip pain, again on my right side. It's not terribly painful, but it hurts a bit when I walk and is a bit uncomfortable.

I'm a healthy, 23 year old long distance runner/ personal trainer. Is there any way these two injuries are related, or is the hip problem more likely to be a sprain?

Thanks for your help and assistance!
