How Long Until Some Relief?

How Long Until Some Relief?

10 days ago I felt something 'grab' in my left buttock and thigh as I bent to retrieve a dropped water bottle. Since then, I have been in pain. During the day I can (only now) get around and sit and stand for a while at a time. However, when I wake (usually after 2-3 hrs only) I can't get up out of bed without tears from the pain. Neither my chiro nor my ortho can explain why. Does anyone have any ideas about what may be causing this and how I can avoid it in the future? Each day that passes I feel like I may be on the precipe to healing...until early morning when it starts over again.
Thanks for listening,

Sounds like maybe a sciatica issue - it can definitely cause pain in the buttocks and thigh areas.  When mine acts up I LOVE the heating pad - you can try putting it behind you when you're sitting, sit on it or even using it when you are laying down in bed - just make absolutely sure you turn it off (if it's an electric one) BEFORE you go to sleep - never use an electric heating pad while sleeping - it could cause severe burns.  I personally use one of the heat/ice thingies that you can either put in the microwave or the freezer, depending on which therapy you want to use.  Also try some type of NSAID such as ibuprofen or aleve or even an aspirin.  I would be cautious about these though if you have any stomach problems or high blood pressure - they can irritate either condition.

Hope you feel better soon!
