How can 3 people be wrong? Or is someone right?

How can 3 people be wrong? Or is someone right?

A year ago I had a 35lb object come down on my shoulder. It only fell about 3 inches and came across closer to my neck and my pecs.  No bruising ever occured.  About 20 minutes after the impact I tried to pick up an object that weighed less than a pound and couldn't. Then I was sort of ok.  GP thought do to trigger points that I might have had an injury to the biceptial tendon.  An ultrasound showed a small tear of the supraspinatius with fluid outside.

The pain continued and 3 months ago I had a MRI and it stated that some of the gadolinium has escaped from the glenohumeral joint and lies anterior to the scapula. This keeping with a capsular tear. No indication of the small tear of the supraspintius.  The Orthopedic surgeon said to live with it, no surgery.

So I went to another Orthopedic who reviewed the MRI and said that the he seen no indication of a tear in the MRI and that it was a crush tissue injury.

So who do I believe?  The Radiologist and first Orthopedic or the 2nd who has discounted the previous diagnosis? I have been doing physio for over 14 months with no remarkable improvement.

first the radiologist reads the MRI and just gives this infor to your treating orthopedic doctor.  next if your not happy go to another shoulder doctor but do plenty of research of this doctor.  i've had both left and right shoulder scoped to clean up some torn cartlidge and did extensive PT, i have no more problems with the shoulder and its been at least 5 years or so.  i perfer sports medicine doctors that just do shoulders.  go see another doctor.   good luck   Phill

Thank you for your advice Phill.  The 2 Ortho's I went to were and are well know in my area.  That is what is frustrating.  Both said no surgery and since this is work related it will just get uglier.... Next course of action.... pain treatment. :(

Hello!

Radiologist is an expert to comment on any type of scan. You can take your MRI to another radiologist for a second opinion.

Take care!
