Huge knot below knee

Huge knot below knee

About 30 days ago at a waterpark, a the heel of a man's foot came down on my left shin about 1/3 of the way down from my left knee. It was a most painful injury, and immediately began to swell and show slight bruising.
It was very sore for about two weeks, though I didn't notice it much unless I touched or bumped it accidentally. Now, about a month later, the soreness is almost completely gone, but I have a huge knot on my shin bone in the place where the injury occurred. This knot is very apparent to the eye, but when you touch it, it feels enormous. I don't mash too hard on it for fear of it hurting, but it feels like bone, yet it's not what my normal shin bone looks or feels like.
Is this something I shouldn't worry about, or is it something I should take to a bone specialist? I'm quite concerned, because the knot does not seem to be diminishing at all in size.

Hi,

The most common reason would be a hematoma which takes time to get absorbed.
It occurs after injuries.
It might also be bursitis, tendonitis etc.
Go for an examination near an Orthopaedician for proper diagnosis and after that go for the cure.

Take care!
