My husband has also been diagnosed with this.  Apparently the newest term for it is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, (CRPS)  He has been on a lot of different medications and not very many of them have helped.  He was diagnosed last June after a an injury to the ankle. He's had many x-rays and CT's and none show any problems.  Which is what lead the doctors to the diagnoses of CRPS.  I have tried to do as much research as I can on it and have found that most importantly you need to treat is quickly and aggressively.  He is on Lyrica and Cymbalta.  Over the course of time his pain management doc has added and taken away a few others, but these two are the main ones.  He is also in physical therapy for it.  It's been a very long, hard few months, but we are actually starting to see some slight improvement in his pain.  I don't know how bad your pain is, but his was and is at times extremely excruciating. Completely debilitating at times.  Also, ice helps him but heat does not.
I would say your next step is to see an orthopedic doc and a pain management doc.  I hope this helps.
