I need help with my MRI report fo the left knee, can you help?

IMPRESSION:  Myxoid degeneration of the posterior horn of medial meniscus w/out meniscal tear. Please interpert what this means.....

Background why the MRI was done. Last week i was shopping for furniture and then inside-side of my knee started hurting without any warning. Then the pain got worse, it has started "locking" and feels really unstable. The pain is more on the inside-side of the left knee. but has started effecting other areas.I'm 32 years old, and never had knee issues like this in my life. I have had some pain going down stairs and "locking horrible pain" when i hit my knee right above it. But nothing of this magnitude. Thank you for your help i look forward to your response.

Hello!

It can be due to past injury to your medial menisci ligament in your knee joint.

At your age natural degeneration is of less possibility.

Grades 1 and 2 signals are consistent with intrasubstance myxoid degeneration.

Lesions of the medial meniscus were divided into vertical (or circumferential) tears, horizontal  tears and cystic (myxoid) degeneration.

Take care!
