I'm in pain. Can somebody please help?

Hello,

I've been having a bad pain in the sole of my right foot. It's kind of where the heel meets the arch. I've been having the pain for nearly 4-5 days now and neither will it go away nor get better. I just took my first metocarbamol 500.
Can anyone tell me what to do. Thank you.

Hi there!

Well, without an evaluation, it would be difficult to determine the cause of your pain. Possibilities include fractures, ligament/ tendon injuries, infections, inflammations like fasciitis etc, spur formation, heel fat pad syndrome, arch issues etc. Metocarbamol is a muscle relaxant and is unlikely to help in your case. It is advised to consult an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Meanwhile it is advised to rest the foot and avoid weight bearing. You could also use some OTC NSAIDS for pain relief.
Hope this helps.

Take care!

Thank you for your kind reply.

I will take your advise and go to the doctor tomorrow,

by the way, if it is fascitis, would metocarbamol be any good? or any medication for that matter? or just rest?

Hi again!

Metocarbamol is unlikely to help any of the conditions mentioned in the previous post including fasciitis. Either of the NSAIDS (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs) are a better option for pain control for the type of pain you describe, along with rest.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
