Injured thumb side of wrist and snapping problem next day, help!

Yesterday I was clearing out a large bookshelf at home. I was grabbing some heavier books with my left hand on a upper shelf. My right hand was below lightly holding onto the lower shelf, thumb side of wrist facing up. The books I was pulling out slipped and crashed down onto the thumb side of right wrist. It hurt but I continued working ( I have good pain tolerance and stubborn). Thumb side of wrist has some bruising , swollen. Doesn't looked deformed. Icing and taken advil. The area that is painful is scaphoid and down to the bone that is roundish (radial?). Today something happened.. I was moving my wrist side to side gently to check movement even though painful(probably stupid) I felt a click ( thumb side) of wrist and then a pop/ snap that could not only be felt but heard. It is a more painful now. I was wondering if it was a bone involved with the above clicking, snap/pop? See a doctor?

sounds like a positive watson grind test were there is a problem with the scaphoid lunate legament

I only heard the click, pop,snap once. A few days later I heard a click once more ( I don't think that time I was moving it side to side) but that is it. Bruising is gone, very slight swelling. I still have pain, tenderness.

I haven't seen a doctor yet but plan on this week. How do they diagnose a liagment injuiry? Xray?
