Is there ALWAYS shortening and rotation in a NOF?

Is there ALWAYS shortening and rotation in a NOF?

Hi all,

I am doing an assignment on pelvic fractures in relation to a scenario of an elderly lady found at home c/o pain in her groin with no shortening or rotation. On first reading I came to the conculsion that her signs and symptoms are indicative of a pubic ramus injury. However I have been out to patients in the past who have had the same signs and symptoms and on x-ray they have been found to have a NOF #.

If anyone can help i'd be appreciative or be able to point me in the right direction of any good peer reviwed journals on this subject.

Many thanks
