Joint popping after fusion?
I had a spinal fusion of T4-L2 around 5 years ago, and have been experiencing cracking and popping in my fused joints ever since.  Recently this has become very painful to the point where narcotics are needed.  Is it normal to have fused joints still pop?

Hi there!

It is abnormal to have movement or popping of fused joints and could indicate incomplete fusion or degeneration. I would suggest getting this evaluated by your treating orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
