Knee Damage

by Deb760, Jun 28, 2009 10:24AM
Does the x ray of the knee indicate how severe the knee is for knee replacement. We believe our doctor mislead us for the purpose of selling us a VERY EXPENSIVE knee brace and numerous extra appointments. When knee replacement was finally performed, my husband's knee had grooves in the bone from them wearing on each other. Needless to say, he had been in a lot of pain all along. Should the doctor have known better? From the first appointment, my husband requested the knee replacement as he was not our first doctor in this ordeal. My husband had already been told he needed a knee replacement by another doctor, but we didn't want that doctor to perform the surgery.

To: Deb760,
Go for a second opinion to confirm and do not self believe in doubts/assumptions which you have in your mind till proved. The most important thing for your husband now is physiotherapy. Surgery only corrects half of the problem for knee replacement. Continous Physiotherapy is required. Take care!
