Knee Pain and Exercising

I strained my meniscus on Friday by over extending on a side lunge.  The pain isn't severe, but I was wondering when I can get back to a lower body workout regimen again?  I usually do 60 mins on the elliptical or I do 60 mins of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and her Fat Blasting, Metabolism boosting DVDs which include things like jumping jacks, burpees, squats, etc.

Hello!

You can only diagnose menisci injuries by getting examined clinically by an expert orthopedician and can confirm this by an MRI scan.

Based on the grade of the tear you may be suggested surgery or conservative treatment.

Apply ice packs and take intermittent NSAIDs, avoid any stress and strain and avoid weight bearing till your recover.

Follow up with an orthopedician for the best treatment regimen which should be based on your diagnosis.

Take care!
