Knee Pain post TKR

It is 4 weeks post TKR and I have sharp pains around the knee that nothing seems to help.  I just started op therapy and did well thu that.  Pain pills work for a couple of hours and then it starts all over agai,  What else can I do for the pain, most of the pain pills only lasts a couple of hours and then I suffer again.  They have changed my pain pills 4 times and it seems most make me hyper and then I cannot sleep.
Would appreciate any suggestions.

     Thanks for writing in. Total Knees can take a good 6-8 weeks to recover, but if you're still needing pain meds at 4 weeks post-op, you might need to talk to your doctor about this. If your PT thinks you're ahead of schedule, are you pushing your knee too much? Have you noticed any signs/symptoms of infection: redness, swelling, increased pain, fever?

I think it would be worth mentioning it to your doctor. It could just be that you haven't recovered yet, but better to see the doctor and rule out something worse like infection or loosening etc. Hope this information helps.
