Sorry this is so long, but please read it because I am getting worried and need some help!
I'm an 18 year old female and I am having a few problems with my legs. It started about 2 years ago, and it comes back every now and then when I think I'm over it. I get light shooting pains from the middle of my thigh to my feet, mainly in my knee during the night, and very strong pains waking me up in the night, meaning that I can't move my leg until the pain stops, and often have cramps and soreness the next day. This happens in both legs, but usually only one at a time. It every now and then, but I will often have months of the pain completely disappearing. I thought it had gone away but I have had similar pains today so I am worried that it isn't going to go away and I need to do something about it.
I spoke to my mum about this a while ago and she says that it is from wearing skinny jeans and flat shoes, which made sense to me so I was more careful with what I wore. I now wear shoes with more structure to them and the pain seems to be less regular. However, just before it all started happening I knew someone who would dig his fingers into the back of my knees as I stood up. This would hurt quite a lot but because I'm quite a moaner he thought I was exaggerating and acted like it was just a joke. I'm quite worried that he has damaged a nerve or muscle in my knees.
I hope you can help me. Any idea what this could be? Should I see a doctor? Thankyou so much for reading this
