I had injured my patella in 2010 by landing on it wrong playing volleyball. I am now a 16 year old boy and my knee continues to track laterally. I have a knee brace at the moment, but my knee cap still slips under where it's supposed to support it. I know the cause of my injury (weak VMO and ligaments) but I'm always worried it'll slip again. My question is, is there a knee brace out there that can stop hyper extention, and stop my knee cap from slipping under the brace?
Yes, there are knee braces that could help with your condition. You could possibly contact your doctor’s office to guide you through finding the best suitable brace. Also I would recommend regular physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles around the knee joint to prevent future recurrence.
Hope this is helpful.
