if you know the symptoms and eat or drink what you know causes uric acid to explode, take immediately first day: 0.6 colchicine 2 tablets before breakfast. after breakfast Naproxen 500mg I tablet. After lunch (1) colchicine (1) naproxen. at bedtime again (1) colchicine, (1)naproxen. 2nd day (1) colchicine and if swollen is present take the naproxen.
I can't eat red meats, or alcohol without noticing the next 18-24 hours that gout flares are developing. therefore, if I know ahead of time that a steak and wine is going to be for dinner, I go ahead and take the colchicine before heading to the steakhouse.
if you are caught with a severe gout attack. I don't think it twice. I drive to the near east ER and get a cortisone shot. next day I'm go to go. ER's are now in abundance and they are staff by an MD. Last time I had to drive to it, I was out in less than 2 hours. watching diet and fluids has kept me from having flares once a year or sometimes even 2 years. I lost 40 lbs and never felt like this since I was 25. Good luck on your treatment
There's a natural product called Cumerin-should be able to find it on-line or at a health store.. It helps!
Hi, at this age the cause of knee pain are arthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, reactive arthritis, bursitis etc. As you don't have history of recent trauma, it is unlikely to be ligament or meniscus tear.
Investigations like MRI, blood tests like ESR, RF, ANA etc are done to find out causes related to autoimmune diseases. Try cold compression, crepe bandage and pain killers like diclofenac etc.
I have knee problems also. I have arthritis, and something called ITB tendonitis. It could be what you have, it's from overuse also. For the pain, the ice is a good idea, gentle stretching of your legs and calves, resting. Try taking Tylenol with the Naproxin or Advil. Also you can try to Glucosamine/Chondrointin pills for joint pain.
